How to use the Verizon Hotspot

1. Locate the power button on the side of the hotspot.

2. Press and hold it for about 5 seconds to turn it on.

3. The power button is also the button for you to navigate the hotspot menu. You can use the power button to locate the name of the Hotspot as well as the password you can use to connect your Chromebook to your Hotspot. Simply press on it once to change to a different menu screen.

4. To connect your Chromebook to your Hotspot, simply press the power button several times until you see the Hotspot name like the one that is displayed below. Now go to your Chromebook, navigate to the bottom right corner of the screen and click on the Wireless icon and look for the Wi-Fi name that is displayed on your Hotspot and select it.


5. Press the power button on the Hotspot until you see the screen that says Password. Your password will be a series of numbers. Type that into the Chromebook and press Enter to connect your Chromebook to your Hotspot.


6. Now you can log in to your Chromebook using your student username and password.

Troubleshooting the Verizon Hotspot

There are several basic troubleshooting steps you can take if your Hotspot is not working correctly.

1. If your Hotspot is displaying No Sim available - Press and hold the power button until the Hotspot is completely shut off.

2. Remove the back cover


3. Take out the battery


4. Lift up the plastic that is locking the SIM card and remove the SIM card.


5. Wait for about 5 minutes and reinsert the SIM. Make sure to lock the SIM card by pressing down on the plastic piece. 

6. Put the battery back into the Hotspot and close the battery compartment with the cover.

7. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn the Hotspot on. 

8. Wait for about one minute before trying to reconnect your Chromebook to your Hotspot. 

9. If you have tried everything above and it still does not work. Please call your instructor.

NOTEIf your hotspot is displaying NO SERVICE on the screen or there is only one bar of G4 LTE signal (located on the left side of the screen) you will not be able to connect to the Internet even though there is no problem with the hardware hardware. At this point you must use your own Internet connection at home to log in to the classroom. If you do not have an Internet connection at home contact your instructor immediately
