EXTRA CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest ~ Benjamin Franklin.

Education is not just about going to school and getting a degree. It's about widening your knowledge and absorbing the truth about life.

Do not give your past the power to define your future.

If you want to succeed, focus on changing yourself, not others.

How to use the Moxee Hotspot

1. Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds to turn it on

2. Locate and press the menu button on the top right-hand corner to navigate to the WiFi screen that says 2.4G or 5.0G. (I recommend using the 5.0G because it is faster, unless for some reason you cannot connect to 5G than you should try 2.4G)

3. Press the power button when you are on the 2.4G or 5.0G to display the WiFi name and password.

4. Go to your Chromebook. Navigate to the bottom right corner of the screen and click on the WiFi icon and select the Moxee WiFi.

5. Type in the password displayed on the Hotspot screen. (It should be a series of numbers below where it says WPA_WPA2) and press Enter to connect.

Basic Troubleshooting

If your Moxee Hotspot is not working correctly for some reason. You can follow the basic troubleshooting steps below to help you get back online.

1. Press and hold the power button until the device is in the off position.

2. Remove the charging cable from the Hotspot if you still have it plugged in.

3. Remove the cover on the back of the Hotspot

4. Remove the battery

5. Unlock the metal piece that is holding down the SIM card.

6. Remove the SIM card and wait for about 5 minutes.

7. Put the SIM card back into the Hotspot.

8. Place the battery and the cover back on.

9. Press and hold the power button until the unit turns on.

10. Wait for about 1 minute before reconnecting your Chromebook to your Hotspot.

NOTE: If your hotspot is displaying NO SERVICE on the screen or there is only one bar of G4 LTE signal (located on the left side of the screen) you will not be able to connect to the Internet even though there is no problem with the hardware. At this point you must use your own Internet connection at home to log in to the classroom. If you do not have an Internet connection at home contact your instructor immediately

All New Electronics Self-Teaching Guide

The rapid growth of modern electronics is truly a phenomenon. All of the things you see in the marketplace today that utilize electronics either did not exist before 1960, or were crude by today’s standards. Some of the many examples of modern electronics in the home include the small (but powerful) pocket calculator, the personal computer, the portable MP3 player, the DVD player, and digital cameras. Many industries have been founded, and older industries have been revamped, because of the availability and application of modern electronics in manufacturing processes, as well as in electronics products themselves. Modern electronics is based on the transistor and its offspring — the integrated circuit (IC) and the microprocessor. These have short-circuited much of traditional electronic theory, revolutionized its practice, and set the whole field off on several new paths of discovery. This book is a first step to help you begin your journey down those paths.

What is required to pass the CPP class

“Integrity is what we say, what we do, and what we say we do.” Don Galer

In order to pass the CPP class at Job Corps, you will need to complete all of the following activities below within 8 weeks. All assignments are due on the week they are assigned, so if you missed a day of class, make sure you tell your instructor so he or she can give you some time to make up the missing assignments. Along the way, your instructor will tell you how he or she wants you to turn in your assignments so make sure you ask them how they want you to turn in your assignments. (Most likely it will be in Google classroom but on a special occasion, it could be somewhere else.)

RECOMMENDATION (BEFORE CPP CLASS STARTS)

In order to make the CPP class goes smoothly I recommend you spend some time learning the ins and outs of Google classroom as well as learning how to navigate this website so you can quickly look up information you need without having to wait for an answer from your instructor. Most of what you need to know will be posted on this website, so spend some time learning it before the class starts and your experience in the CPP class will go very smoothly.

Everything below this line is required to successfully complete the CPP class, so make sure you turn in your assignments along the way.
